The place was small, but the sound was acceptable, even without PA. Big Boss was
put away behind soundproof screens, but still managed to crank it up. Playing

24 July 2005 - 'Nijmegen de gekste!' Well they do
walk, but they don't rock! Bit of a bummer. But if you expect Masters of Spam to
play at sissy volume levels, you might as well ask a monkey to sing! It's just
not going to happen (our amps go to eleven, you see). No pussy sing-along
ski-hut party type music, no way - we play rock and we play
loud. That's what Spam is about. Typical case
of wrong band, wrong place, wrong crowd... Too bad, catch you next time. >>>>>>

07 June 2005 - De Bierkaai (Baak). Baak rocks! These
people know how to party. A mixed crowd of Achterhoekers, Brasilian girls,
Russian guys from Kalashnikov-city and God knows what else! Brilliant setting
for a Masters gig. When the Klaus Wunderlich intro tune started,
the party started too. And it went on until the last minute. The place was like
an oven, but hey, we were cool! Tour-manager Ruudje (Frikandelletje Metal)
needed all the help he could get to save the gigantic stage from disappearing
under a wild pogo-pit. And we couldn't find enough pens to sign all the CDs we
sold (or gave away...). Special thanks to Patrick (the boss), Addie (the smiling
bar lady) and co., Ruud and the guys from Call of Fame (nice & loud, dudes) and
the guys from Grolschbusters and Dat Doe'w for jumping in when things got
wild... We'll put some great pics on this site shortly (check again soon). For

Meanwhile we're working on some fine new songs: Seventies floor-filler
Kung Fu Fighting and a very special version of Je t'Aime, Moi Non
Plus (that's that old tune with that hot chick coming over and over

07 May 2005 - Afterdauwpop. Things could have been
worse... the wheather was chilly but dry, the first part of our set was not too
bad apart from a beep here and there. Than the curse of the Bad Bad Boogieman
struck down on us mercilessly. During Love Gun Big Boss' kick
pedal broke. Luckily it could be quickly replaced by the spare one. But... after
1,5 songs the spare pedal gave up as well. That's a real bummer man, this kind
of shit ruins a gig. The band was pissed off: Big Boss had been playing too loud
again. He got his ass kicked badly after the show and promised to buy new ultra
heavy duty gear right away. Well, the Posterenkies didn't care too much, they
seemed to like us (most of them were too drunk to notice anyway!). Nice
festival! Big thanks to Jochem & pals (organisation ), the guys from Blacknight
(sound) and the other bands: Shitt Happens and Wide Open. Check the short
video!

01 May 2005 - Yesterday - Queen's Day - we played the
Backstage Cafe (Deventer). The place was so goddamn hot that we were soaking
(that's soaking, not sucking) like pussy. We played three sets of ultra fine
spam, including a special spammy edition of the Dutch national anthem
(Willempie) of course. Blockbuster spontaneously added a spectacular new act to
the show: during the last note of Denise he tips over backwards
and throws himself into the drumkit! Small bruise, great show! Deventer was the
first to see the Masters since the start of the long expected "Hit Groupies''
tour and the finest hour is yet to come! Thanks to Spook and all at Backstage

16 April 2005 - Recovering from hybernation (- wow, great name
for a band!) Masters of Spam will pick up the prestigious 'Hit Groupies'
Tour as of 'Koninginnedag' on 30 April. We'll do Deventer
first and than headline ( - wow, this will look great on our bio) the famous
'AfterDauwpop' Festival on 'Hemelvaartsdag'. On 5 June we 'll kick out
the spams in Baak (Achterhoek), check the
agenda for more details. After a short break we'll most likely do
Brabant (option) and take it from there coming summer. So come and see

March 2005 - Almost spring, time to kick out the rusty strings
and get some nice new gear. Fledd and Blockbuster went shopping and came home
with a set of great custom weapons of mass destruction. They made a deal with
Huub Boel owner of BO-EL Guitar Custom Shop in Zutphen
(Gld.). Fleddy now plays on a "GG classic" and Blockbuster on a "GG-75 TOL",
some of the world's finest guitars. For all those interested in the details, go

21 January 2005 - About last week's gig: big place, modest crowd;
all the right ingredients for Masters of Spam

Today we got an anniversary by the way: The Japeman turns (about)
21- grown up at last! We'll celebrate during the next gig (we're likely to do

2005 - Happy New Yeahhrrrr! 2005 will be a good Spam year -
so we heard. Anyway we'll kick off on Saturday 15 January
in a place called 'The New Whip' (!) in Klarenbeek somewhere in Holland
(near Apeldoorn if you want to know). A three band night, together with our
friends from Wide Open (Power Rock) and Sced, a locally famous local act. Starts
at 21:00 h.

Japeman is up for some surgery - again. The doctor ordered
a bionic knee this time... He hopes to be up & running again as from October
(and no more
football,
Jape!).
Rock 'n rollator.
In the meantime we got some stuff to repair/replace (kick pedals ain't what
they used to be - thanks once more to the Zutphen connection! - and Mesa Boogie
sucks big time) and some Spam costumes to brush up (slowly fading after all
those sweaty shows). Next time we'll make sure we got a whole spare backline
with us! For the rest we are still trying to finally get the tracks of our
next CD (probably called: 'Masters of Spam Hit Groupies') decently mixed.
After all the delays, it should be ready sometime in September at last. About
time for f**k's sake!
3 August 2004 - Tomorrow go see us in Zutphen (Groenmarkt 40), it's outside and the wheather is hot. Even better: it's for free! Gig starts 20:00, ends 23:00. Nearly three hours of Spam rock; that's like 0 Euros per hour! If that's too cheap, you ain't Dutch! Besides, this will be our last gig in 2,5 months...

Wet & Wild Losser. We played so loud our rectums prolapsed, no
shit !. It only started raining during our last song. Bummer, because that was
the only way to get everyone running up to the stage (where it was nice and
dry). Anyway, it was nice for us, how was it for you? (You like German
Schlagers, don't you!)

26 June 2004 - Wam Bam Amsterdam - stone you like nothing else can! Back from The Cave, Home of Rock & Metal. Good gig, no shit. Kick off after the France-Greece match and where the French sucked big time, we hit home! We enjoyed it and so did all 200 visitors (give or take a few ; -). We definitely made some new friends (fans?), so we'll be back. And Cave guys... think about building a decent dressing room please. Can't do without it, Glam rock, you know!

Utrecht was jolly good. Relaxed place, nice people, excellent equipment.
The Koch guitar amp and Eden bass amp almost made Blockbuster and Japeman drool.
And an 
Ayotte
drum kit is not exactly a punishment for a drummer either. During the second set
we were turned into a 5-piece band for a while, thanks to the air guitar
dude.
Good show maestro, didn't miss a note! Anyway, check
the pics for yourself. The famous 'Raad Een Lied Of Niet' contest
winner was a guy called Menno. The usual prize: the Masters of Spam CD
'You've got Spam' (2002)... (yep, still waiting on the new one, out in June).
Oude Pothuys rules! We'll be back next year. Meanwhile we got
confirmation on a festival gig on the 18th of July (Losser, Ov.).
22 May 2004 - Well, let's call a spade a spade: our first gig in six months was not exactly great. Circumstances were not ideal either: the sound system sucked, Fledd's amplifier blew up half an hour too early and Big Boss barely made it through the night suffering from fever, black outs and god knows what else... Just the sort of gig you don't want to remember. Anyway, revenge is due next week: May 29th in Utrecht!
17 May 2004 - On July 3rd the Masters will be the opening act on the last gig party of the rock band SixStrings in Zutphen (Gld.). Show starts: 20:00 h. Check www.sixstrings.tk for details.
May 2004 - Fledd is a dad. Good job!

April 2004 - At last... getting ready to hit the stage again! Japeman lost a few pounds back in Mozambique and has finally become the lean & mean string picking machine he always wanted to be... Meurkerrie is in shape. Heavily inspired by the jurassic Uli Roth (almost his own age ; -) lately... Blockbuster is learning how to tapdance while playing, trying to hit the right pedals of his new Boss effects (don't be suprised if he sounds like a vacuum cleaner every now and than). No FX for Big Boss; same old shit, banging away - as long as it's loud... So, make no mistake about it: The Masters are ready as hell. Ready when your are! April 16th in Amsterdam.

Still finishing the new CD (slowly but surely we'll get there). Meanwhile we picked up a couple more hard rock classics that we really fancy: Love Gun (Kiss), Panama (Van Halen) and a true Thin Lizzy medley.
Japeman will leave for South Africa early March, so we won't get a chance to play for another month... bummer! - Hey Mr. Bassman, take the fucking night bus home...

After an exhausting tour schedule Spam Records recording artists Masters of Spam have been taking it easy lately. (Hey, home improvement and procreation take a lot of energy you know...)
The good news is we have been working our pretty asses of recording a new groundbreaking LP (probably titled 'The Shit Hits The Spam' unless we find something better. Suggestions?). We were lucky to get Holland's hottest underground producer St. Geert Kerssies to do the difficult stuff yet again. C. Barton 'dos Calvados' van Flymen flew in from South Africa for an ass kickin' photo session making Corbijn look like a real pussy! Look for the sleaziest pics on this site next month.
Song titles: - well, let's not spoil all the fun right now - you'll see soon enough. Anything from The Police to Blondie, throwing in the odd German Schlager of course; yep- we dug up old shit again, that's what we do. But don't worry, we won't stick to the originals too much.
